USDA NASS 2019 MONTANA

The USDA NASS Census of Agriculture 2017 data has been released. In Montana, the average size of a farm or ranch stayed relatively the same from 2012 increasing to 2,149 acres from 2,134 acres. However, the number of farms and ranches in the state and the number of acres of land in this use-type. The number of acres classified as a farm or ranch decreased of 5.4% over the last ten years from 61,388,462 acres in 2007 to 58,122,878 acres in 2017.
